Language Enrichment Acquisition Preschool: LEAP

What is LEAP?

LEAP is a unique supplementary preschool program for children ages 2 ½ -5 with communication and other developmental delays. We are dedicated to providing children with neurodiversity in the East Valley the absolute best start in education and early intervention.

LEAP provides extra support services for preschool aged children who are developmentally delayed in one or more of the following areas: speech and language, sensory motor, hearing impaired, and other cognitive or developmental delays and disorders. We specialize in servicing children with speech sound disorders (i.e. apraxia), late talkers, receptive and expressive language delays, high functioning autism, and more.

LEAP is a two day a week program held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-12:00. Enrollment is month-to-month.

Student-Teacher Ratio and Class Size

We accept a maximum of 12 children into the program and maintain a 3:1 student-teacher ratio to safeguard that each child’s needs are attended to, and progress is closely monitored. Our 3:1 student-teacher ratio ensures every child’s needs are appropriately met, and that they receive more individualized attention on their developmental goals.

Children are better able to achieve their individual goals because our supplementary preschool program is primarily led by speech-language therapists and occupational therapists who are trained in speech and language development, social-emotional development, sensory-motor development, cognitive enhancement, and other aspects of neurodevelopment.

Is LEAP supplementary preschool program a good match for my child?

Children that are not ready to be in a regular preschool setting yet, or children that already are in a regular preschool setting but need more attention to their developmental needs, are excellent candidates for LEAP. Because our staff has expertise in the area of speech and language development, as well as sensory-motor development, our program is equipped to meet the needs of your child.

How is LEAP different than my child’s regular preschool environment?

LEAP is not a Daycare-Preschool. Children with developmental delays and learning differences require a smaller student-to-teacher ratio and highly qualified staff with expertise in educating children who require specialized instruction, as well as treating various delays and disorders, using evidence-based practices.

Our staff and consultants hold degrees, licenses and certifications in: Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Education, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Our multidisciplinary team works together to establish and deliver the necessary support each young learner requires.

Our unique supplementary preschool program offers children a place to grow, learn, and directly work on their speech-language, sensory-motor, developmental and cognitive goals beyond what their typical preschool environment is able to offer. Children needing more individualized attention in their regular preschool program can come to the LEAP supplementary preschool program to receive more individualized attention on their special needs and developmental goals.
